This filter features a longer body (early is 89mm/3.5 , new is 102mm/4 ) and holds 25% more filtering media surface to better support the higher oil flow in M8 engines. The 5-micron filtering media is otherwise identical to the earlier 63798-99A (chrome) and 63731-99A (black) filter it replaces. The early filter is still advised for Twin Cam models, this longer late style filter is advised for all M8 engines. Fits: > 17-2
